It was a very chilly morning &#8211; we drove up the back roads with the beautiful Hunter\u2019s moon over our shoulder the whole way. We saw many old friends and family during the visitation &#8211; I was pleasantly surprised to see Pamela and Jackie had made the trip, as well as John\u2019s old Systematics friend Phil S. The Texas relatives drove up (Mitch &amp; Laurie, Cathy, Bruce, and Melissa) as well as Uncle Perk\u2019s family Marty and Larkin, and Larkin\u2019s wife and daughter. After the graveside service with Phillip and John both speaking, we all had lunch together. The morning was a lovely tribute to Pete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve seen several friends &#8211; we had lunch with Mary in Little Rock on Monday after my eye appointment. John spent yesterday in Little Rock with his old friend Duane. Deb &amp; Doug came for brunch today. I went out with Alison and Peewee on Monday night to Rolando\u2019s where we had dinner on the mountainside patio with some of their girlfriends. I spent yesterday with Chuck &#8211; we hit a big rummage sale and a yard sale, then had lunch. He joined us for an Oktoberfest dinner at Peewee\u2019s last night &#8211; a beautiful evening on her back patio watching the sun set over the lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" src=\"http:\/\/www.criplomats.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/IMG_3828.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7547\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.criplomats.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/IMG_3828.jpeg 320w, http:\/\/www.criplomats.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/IMG_3828-300x225.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><figcaption>Sunset from Peewee\u2019s<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve been enjoying \u201cDisclaimer,\u201d \u201cShrinking,\u201d and \u201cBad Monkey\u201d this week, plus we watch Ridley Scott\u2019s \u201cNapoleon.\u201d I\u2019ve been reading \u201cWicked\u201d and listening to the very raunchy \u201cThe Last Black Unicorn\u201d by Tiffany Haddish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve gone to yoga several times since I\u2019ve been back &#8211; the two deer below seem to be residents next to the parking lot.
