Last Sunday, we took Stubby\u2019s BBQ to David and Alison\u2019s for lunch before they headed out to Jasper with friends for the rest of the week. Sunday evening, our sweet neighbors Keith and Shannon took us to dinner at Lost Forty, then we toured their really cool new, modern home off the lake. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John and I went to yoga on Monday, then I went alone on Tuesday while he and his buddy Rusty visited &#8211; we had dinner with Rusty and his wife Cathie that evening at Quetzal\u2019s. Sadly, I developed a cold on Wednesday and substituted yoga with a trip to the Arlington Hotel for an old-fashioned hot mineral bath, dry sauna, and hot towels &#8211; it felt wonderful for my head. We stopped by Walgreens on the way home for COVID boosters and the North American flu shot. I stayed in on Thursday and enjoyed the morning rain while John did last-minute errands around town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John and I thoroughly enjoyed \u201cRivals\u201d and we\u2019re still watching \u201cDisclaimer\u201d and \u201cShrinking.\u201d Last night we started the new season of \u201cThe Diplomat.\u201d I finished (and enjoyed) \u201cWanted: Toddler\u2019s Personal Assistant\u201d by Stephanie Kiser about being a nanny to the ultra-wealthy in NYC, and I reread \u201cEndurance\u201d about Shackleton\u2019s ill-fated trip to Antarctica. I just started \u201cMrs. Chippy\u2019s Last Expedition,\u201d a fun (and silly) read about the cat that was on the Endurance, by Caroline Alexander. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Friday was travel day &#8211; it was thankfully uneventful and on-time &#8211; we were back in the apartment with Flavia by 8:00 AM Saturday morning! I had lunch today with Lea to get caught up on things &#8211; it\u2019s back to work tomorrow!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was saddened to hear this morning that my half-brother Danny Pipkin passed away last night &#8211; I\u2019m happy I had the chance to visit with him when I was home last April. While we were not raised together and were not close, he was always so kind to me, and my mom loved him very much.
