We welcomed a new officer to the consular section, so we\u2019re finally back to our normal staff of four officers. It was tough getting up every morning, especially as we shake off the jet lag. Since Liberia doesn\u2019t do daylight savings time, we are now five hours ahead of Washington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I had a nice video chat Friday afternoon with a consular colleague back in DC, but otherwise it was a quiet week. We celebrate Local Staff Appreciation day on Wednesday, and employees were greeting by a small band of high school musicians as we came to work. The local staff enjoyed a free lunch from the cafeteria, as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We watched the silly but fun \u201cRed Notice\u201d this week, as well as the most recent episodes of \u201cSuccession,\u201d \u201cThe Morning Show,\u201d and \u201cCurb Your Enthusiasm.\u201d John spent all afternoon and evening yesterday playing board games (and had a blast), while I gratefully stayed home and read \u201cUnspeakable Acts,\u201d a compilation of essays on crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A pretty quiet week!
