She is such a wonderful cook and hostess! It\u2019s always a treat to go to her home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monday afternoon, Ann came to spend the night. We yakked till we were blue in the face. We went downtown on Tuesday to pick up a few things and it was fun to remember all of the times we had wandered around downtown as teenagers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>James and Marybeth drove up from San Antonio and we went to Julie and Scott\u2019s for pizza Thursday night &#8211; big fun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" src=\"http:\/\/www.criplomats.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/IMG_4803.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7823\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.criplomats.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/IMG_4803.jpeg 320w, https:\/\/www.criplomats.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/IMG_4803-300x225.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><figcaption>With James, Scott, Julie, and Marybeth<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Marybeth went to yoga with me Thursday and Friday. Friday night we went out for BBQ with David and Alison. Afterward we sat on the porch and watched a big storm move across the lake &#8211; it was lovely to sit outside and hear the rain &#8211; and we were treated to a rainbow after! (Actually, I think it was a double!) I did a lot of cleaning and pre packing, but in between chores, I\u2019ve been bingeing on \u201cThe Gilded Age\u201d &#8211; so good! I finished reading \u201cTalk: The Science of Conversation\u201d by Alison Wood Brooks &#8211; lots of good tips and reminders. Neighbors Jim and Kathleen invited me out for a fun boat ride this afternoon, too! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was thrilled to talk to Charlie\u2019s new parents this week and hear that he\u2019s doing well! They also sent me photos today of him and their other doggo &#8211; he looks happy!
